The tune you hear is the
Garry Cogdell Trio & Friends
from "Stimulus Show 1."  It's their "Sweet Home Chicago," and is the type of easy jamming you can expect at the monthly Country Store jam sessions mentioned below.

Been to St. Georges lately??  On the last Friday & Saturday of the Month Garry Cogdell hosts a great open mic night at the Cafe at St. Georges Country Store.  For directions check out their website by clicking on the pic to the left.  It's a small, intimate environ, so best to call 302-836-8202 to make reservations, as overcrowding gets people turned away.  But it's a great time with great Cajun food and other goodies. Garry calls it "The Sessions at St. Georges." Party begins at 7 'till 10 and later.  So, check it out!!

Kelli Tome, the "BluesGirl" and her Full Moon Blues website is a MUST for any tri-state Blues fan.  And while you're there, get on her email list...it's where the local Blues scene comes alive with notice about "Who is playing Where" in the Delaware Valley, and much, much more!!!  If you're into the blues then you can't do without this weekly email notice of where to see and hear Blues music.  Join in and get "in the know!"  The site is at www.FullMoonBlues.com(Kelli is also a big contributor of many of the live event photos you'll find here on the DSBS web, and we offer her our many "THANKS!"  Check out her photo section at Full Moon for hundreds of additional pics of DSBS and other events.  She REALLY gets around the live music scene, as her photo archive attests.)

And in that same vein, our friend from the Baltimore Blues Society, the "Crawlin' Kingsnake,"
Dave Strickler maintains their MOJO BOARD of LIVE MUSIC for the area south of the Delaware line and more.  It's all at www.mojoworkin.com/mojoboard/viewtopic.

Biograph Records were the first to record and release piano rolls struck by Scott Joplin, George Gershwin, and Jelly Roll Morton, the very hands that created modern American song.  Working with the Library of Congress, they restored and released the legendary field recordings of Son House.  They rescued master tapes from great independent jazz and blues labels like Dawn, Regal and Melodeon that would have otherwise been forgotten.  If it's roots you want, Biograph is the label to search out.  Their site, with some creat cuts to listen to, is at www.biograph.com. Clicking the album cover above will take you to another site that is a Biograph discography at www.wirz.de/music/biogrfrm.htm.

If it's June in Delaware then the place to be is the June Jam  Over the past several years headliners have included national acts the likes of "Kansas," "Moly Hatchet," " 38 Special," "Cheap Trick," "Dave Mason," and "The Fabulous Thunderbirds" . Combine the national acts with the best of the East Coast's touring bands, a spotlight for favorite local musicians, fun and games for children, vendors to satisfy almost any need and a shady spot under a tree to enjoy the day for 1000-plus members and their guests, and you have it. JUNE JAM "Delaware's Best Outdoor Concert" (Next to the Riverfront Blues Festival, that is!)  To see what's up for this year go to www.JuneJam.com.
